FlightCentral.com is the developer and publisher of a software product for pilots. Their product, called Route Browser, converts a pilot's flight history into a visual route map that can be exported to Google Earth. It is used by thousands of pilots worldwide.
While the product is valuable to users it also undergoes few changes or upgrades and has no additional revenue opportunities after the initial sale. In order to keep user involvement with the company and make its site more interesting, FlightCentral.com created an aviation-oriented FeedLetter for its home page and moved its web site and product information over to the BubbleCommunities platform.
Using BubbleCommunities as its website platform enabled FlightCentral.com to:
- Convert its previously static site into a more dynamic and interesting destination site
- Keep users engaged with the company for any future sales opportunities
- Gain exposure for its product through a new service offering (the aviation FeedLetter)
Before the conversion to a FeedLetter, the website received very little traffic. Now the site has a daily log of regular visitors.
